fantastic light, shame about the battery
This light is ideal for those cycle journeys that take you through unlit areas, such as country lanes - though if you plan on riding very fast (i.e. 15mph+) in pitch darkness I'd recommend getting two of these (the battery pack has two output leads). It's probably overkill if your journeys are entirely urban through areas lit with street lamps, however.

The reflector features a cutoff which prevents the (very bright) LED from blinding oncoming road users, and is shaped to spread the light evenly along the road in front of you. As someone who has been flashed by oncoming drivers more than once for using a halide light unit with a symmetrical beam, this is a very useful design feature. The lamp also has high-power and low-power modes (the juice lasts twice as long on low-power).

The battery however is a bit of a let-down. It's a battery pack consisting of five AA-sized NiMhs - definitely old tech. I've sounded out other users of these lights, and they tell me it's...
