Perfect solution for a road bike
I bought one of these bags to use on my road bike for longish day rides, and I must say that it is much the best solution I've come across as I don't like cycling with backpacks and handlebar bags aren't really great with drop bars (not to mention the extra drag). This size (there are larger ones) is sufficient to carry a moderate armoured chain lock as well as a waterproof, extra inner tube, mobile phone and very thin fleece (or you might squeeze in a paper back book or rolled up magazine). I also find it is reasonably aerodynamic, being mounted behind the seat tube. It has the useful side-benefit that, on wet roads, it deflects some of the tyre spray which would otherwise go up your back. Although the bag isn't really compatible with a seat-post mounted light, it has a useful fabric loop on the back for an LED light.
