Fair to middling overall but useful hub gear.
Bought this bike elsewhere based on specification- 8 speed hub gears, aluminium frame, stated weight. Purpose is for leisure- can go into car boot for days out etc. I am comparing to Dahon Vitesse of which I have experience. The Stratos is a reasonable bike for the price paid. Weight is OK but the Sturmey Archer hub gear weighs down the rear. The hinges lack the elegance of the Dahon but seem very solid and lock with satisfying clunk. It is slightly easier to fold and unfold than the Dahon, but there are no locking magnets to prevent unfolding- instead you have a velcro strap. The hub gear seems to work reasonably well and 8th seems faster than 7th on the Dahon- neither are fast bikes (although I am not really an expert cyclist) Brakes work well and if the hub gear remains reliable I would say overall this was a good purchase. A carrying bag of quite good quality was supplied in the box.
